Makan-makan in Shanghai

So this post came up 4 months late. So it was still spring and Chinese New Year atmosphere in the pictures below.

I covered all that I mentioned previously.

Shanghai, to me is more like a business centre rather than a tourist attraction. I went there for like 4 days and managed to go to the places I said I wanted to go despite the lack of time and I was there for business matter.

But in this post, I'll first cover all the delectables! Yummy!

First day landed in Shanghai, we went for Sze Chuan-style dinner. This is at YuXin SiChuan, just a throw away from the hotel we stayed, Supreme Tower. Dinner wasn't as expensive as we thought as the restaurant looked really classy. Just RMB250 for the 3 of us.
This is beef floss, I think. Hot.

A nice tofu-something with crabmeat.
Their chao pai (must eat) dish. Forgot the name already.
This is fish. Forgotten the name of the dish, but all the supposedly soup you are looking, isn't soup. But OIL! There's not a drip of water in this dish. OIL, all of it! And it's as what SiChuan dish is famous for, my tongue got numb after eating the dish.
And this is how big the dish was.
The fish, very fresh. As it was kept in the hot oil throughout the dinner, every piece was hot and nice.
And introducing to you, the culprit that made our tongues went numb. My friend tried to bite it, and lesson learnt!
Some low profile vege.

A change of look. This is lunch in factory. RMB6 for all these.

These are from Yu Yuan Garden.
So so chawanmushi.
A better egg tart can be found.
A very disappointing Shanghai Xiao Long Bao. Din Tai Fung is way better. But the crowd there was really misleading. Cis!

These coming pictures were taken from a restaurant where our counterpart treated us. Forgot the place and name of restaurant. But it was yummylicious to the max!
Starters. Some fish.
Lotus root. Sweet stuff.
Glutinous rice with pork inside. Salivating again!
This is a very nice Xiao Long Bao! Much better than in Yu Yuan Garden!
Very nice dessert. I think it's mango inside with some cream. But it was heaven!
I think my friend told me this is soup in teacup. A direct translation. Very nice. I had 2 eventhough I was full!
Some vege.
Chicky feet. Hot and spicy, Sichuan Style!
Overall, I think food in Shanghai is good! Most probably it was the weather. Cold weather vs hot food. Perfect combo!
